A parish council clerk has slammed the “irresponsible behaviour” of individuals after a fire was lit and sofas were left at a beauty spot.
Two sofas and a fire were found at the Hills and Hollows beauty spot in Grantham over the weekend.
Pete Armstrong, Londonthorpe and Harrowby Without Parish Council clerk, described the incident as “another case of irresponsible behaviour” and a “further cost issue” to the parish council, who owns the site.
“The questions we would ask is who is missing two settees and how did they get them there?” asked Pete.
When he visited the site on Saturday afternoon, the sofas had gone, but there was “debris” left at the site, including lager cans and bottles
“The previous questions still stand but now we can add where are [the sofas] now?” added Pete.
Pete said that a dog walker had discovered the sofas earlier in the day and had put the fire out.
Last week, it was reported that residents in the area near the Hills and Hollows are “at the end of their tether” regarding anti-social behaviour nearby, including the use of off-road motorbikes.
Both the parish council and South Kesteven District Councillor Elvis Stooke say they are keen to stop these incidents.
